Dwellbeing

D is for dwell. The vlog is out now and it contains some poems written by myself and some of our renew hosts from various retreats I have led recently around this amazing concept that wellbeing is all about dwelling.

Take a look at the poems . I will add some of them to them to end of this blog post. The first poem I mention is in "Slow down, Show up and Pray".

This idea of making yourself at home in God is something we will look at next week but for this week we look at the mystery that He chooses to make Himself at home in us.

In the world , in the church and in you and me !! Wow. How welcome do we make Him?

I would love to hear more of your responses to this as you discuss it , write about it etc .

For now enjoy these poems written on retreat :

DWELL: In Nature

by Janet Morris

I sit-

Dwell-

Breathe-

Smell-

Cool

Autumn

Air

I

Hear

Bird

Song,

Sat

Among

Yellow

And

Sodden

Leaves

The

Sun

Beams

Through

The

Trees

Dazzling

Me

A

Place

I

Sit

To

Dwell

With

Thee

Dwell: In the church

By Susanna Hinton

In all its messiness, dysfunction and hurt

Even there, God dwells.

Gathered together, that extra dimension

He speaks, he heals, he touches.

Gathered locally AND in the church worldwide

The churches I strongly disagree with

Those where I feel at home

Whatever the denomination, whoever the leader

Whether led well or fallen from grace

Here he dwells!

Lord show us your presence.

Dwell In me

By Ruth Rice

Oh Lord who makes me whole

Come enter the castle of my soul

Access all rooms

Fling wide the door

I welcome you to come explore

My hopes

My dreams

The darkest space

To fill each room

With light and grace

Oh Lord God who makes me clean

Come clear the clutter that’s unseen

Unlock the dungeon

Loose the chains

Where I have trapped myself again

Oh Jesus sweet and gracious guest

Become the host who knows me best

The bounties you have laid in store

Remind me there is always more

Oh Shepherd of my grateful soul

Fill every room

And make me whole

In every ordinary place

May You be welcome

God of grace
